Hace 4 días · Multiple versions of this song were recorded by the band in the 1960s, with the most popular probably being the Carl Wilson-sung version on the band’s 1971 album Surf’s Up. While I love that one, I have a preference for this version sung by Brian, which was recorded in the ’60s but not officially released until many years later.

Hace 5 días · My most favorite “80’s Beach Boys” tune is “Make It Big”, but this is a very close runner-up; though the group mostly floundered in that decade, “Kokomo” definitively proves that their style was perfectly suited to thrive in that environment if they only could come up with the right tunes.
