Esther Cleveland was the second daughter of Stephen Cleveland and Frances Folsom.. She was born in 1893 and was the only child of a president to be born in the White House. Esther had her share of childhood diseases, measles in 1896 and diphtheria in 1901.
During Cleveland’s second term, Frances became the only first lady to give birth to a child at the White House when her daughter Esther was born in 1893. She gave birth to a third daughter, Marion, in 1895.
