Thomas Hart Clay (September 22, 1803 – March 18, 1871) was the U.S. ambassador to Honduras and Nicaragua, [1]. He was a son of Henry Clay .
In 1794 her father Thomas Hart moved the family to Lexington, Kentucky where she completed her education. Lucretia Hart and Henry Clay were married on April 11, 1799 at her parents’ home. Shortly thereafter, Lucretia and Henry moved into the home next door.
Thomas Hart Clay’s wife was Marie Mentelle. Green – The Woodlands owned by James Erwin and his wife, Anne Brown Clay, as it was when auctioned in 1852. Yellow – The main Ashland estate as it was when auctioned in 1853.
Henry Clay Sr. (April 12, 1777 – June 29, 1852) was an American lawyer and statesman who represented Kentucky in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. He was the seventh House speaker as well as the ninth secretary of state. He unsuccessfully ran for president in the 1824, 1832, and 1844 elections.

5Lucretia Hart Clay (1781-1864) was born in Hagerstown, Maryland, the youngest daughter of Colonel Thomas Hart.
