  6. In 1882 the Macdonalds bought a summer home in Quebec near Rivière-du-Loup, Les Rochers, and a new residence in Ottawa, Earnscliffe, which they occupied a year later. A month after Macdonalds death in June 1891, Agnes became Baroness Macdonald of Earnscliffe in her own right.
