Frances Teresa Stewart, Duchess of Richmond and Lennox (8 July 1647 – 15 October 1702) was a prominent member of the Court of the Restoration and famous for refusing to become a mistress of Charles II of England.

Frances Stewart is Emeritus Professor of Development Economics at the University of Oxford. She has an honorary doctorate from the University of Sussex. In 2009, she received the UN Mahbub ul Haq award for lifetime services to human development, and in 2013 was awarded the Leontief Prize for Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought.
