Jimmy Stafford is an American musician/songwriter/producer who was the original guitarist and a founding member of the Grammy Award winning band Train from 1994- 2016. Since parting ways with Train, Jimmy has released 8 solo albums with his 9th album due to be released in April 2024.
Bio. Jimmy Stafford is an American musician-songwriter who was an original member of the Grammy Award winning band Train from its inception in 1994 until he parted ways with the band in 2016. His unique style of guitar playing helped give Train its distinctive sound.
After deciding to form a full band, the duo recruited Jimmy Stafford (lead guitarist for The Apostles) on guitar, Charlie Colin on bass, and Scott Underwood on drums, thus solidifying Train's lineup in 1994. Train attempted to get signed under Columbia Records in 1996, but were rejected.
