Sharaf ad-Dīn al-Muʿaẓẓam ʿĪsā (al-Malik al-Muʿaẓẓam ʿĪsā) (1176 – 1227) was the Ayyubid Kurdish emir of Damascus from 1218 to 1227. The son of Sultan al-Adil I and nephew of Saladin , founder of the dynasty, al-Mu'azzam was installed by his father as governor of Damascus in 1198 [1] or 1200. [2]

Born on 29 May 1904 at Istana Hinggap, Pekan, he was the second son of Sultan Abdullah Al-Mu’tassim Billah Shahby his second wife, Kalsum binti Abdullah. He was married to Tengku Ampuan Pahang Raja Fatimah, the daughter of Sultan Iskandar of Perak, in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. His marriage was a marriage between two royal relatives. He died on 5 May 1974 at the Istana Peninjau, Kampung Padang Polo, Pekan at aged 69 and was succeeded by his son Sultan Ahmad Shah.

21 de dic. de 2020 · According to [the archaeologist Amit] Re’em, al-Mu’azzam Isa erected the fortifications of Jerusalem in approximately 1212, “and on every tower he put a large sign in Arabic, ‘I’m the great ruler el-Melek el-Muatem Isa.’” Alongside his name on this stone was the year, 1212. Rarely do archaeologists hit the jackpot of a securely dated inscription.
Razin al-Ba’albaki for this purpose, particularly for the teaching of Arabic grammar ("nahw"). The thirteenth-century historian Ahmad Ibn Yahya al-Umari designates 1211/608 as the year when al-Malik al-Mu'azzam 'Isa endowed the Qubba, whereas the fifteenth-century historian Mujir al-Din al-Ulaymi gives the year 1207/604 for its completion.
