  7. Milton died on August 4, 2005 from complications following a stroke. He was 70. He was posthumously honored with a marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail. On June 25, 2019, The New York Times Magazine listed Little Milton among hundreds of artists whose material was reportedly destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire.
