Emory & Henry College (E&H or Emory) is a private liberal arts college in Emory, Virginia. The campus comprises 335 acres (1.36 km 2) of Washington County, which is part of the Appalachian highlands of Southwest Virginia. Founded in 1836, Emory & Henry College is the oldest institution of higher learning in Southwest Virginia.
Inspired by the motto “Increase in Excellence,” the first faculty challenged students to grow and develop intellectually, spiritually and physically. Today, our mission continues to focus on students as they follow a path of intellectual and spiritual growth on their way to successful futures.
Emory & Henry College is a private institution that was founded in 1836. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 1,082 (fall 2022), its setting is rural, and the campus size is 325 acres.
