By late 1984, Jim, Terry, Ted, and keyboard player and bass singer, Ric Ulsky, left the band. Larry, Russ and Jules brought in new guys and finished the “Happy Together “ tour (160 concerts) and continued on.
During the spring of 1977, Brown left to concentrate on session work and keyboardist Ric Ulsky joined, leaving Jim Yester as sole guitarist in the lineup. But by the summer of that same year, with the prime gigs proving to be fewer and far between, Yester left, leaving Bluechel as the only original member.
Gathering together the surviving members and adding Ric Ulsky on bass and keyboards, the concert, airing in 1980, sparking a brief renewed interest in the band. A new single, " Dreamer ", was produced by Curt Boettcher and released on Elektra Records in 1981.

In 1980 the originals (with Ric Ulsky returning in place of Thompson and Alexander taking over the bass) went back on the road for a concert tour. With the genuine article back out touring, the bogus band was eventually put out of business.

Ulsky, Ric. He is a keyboard player and vocalist who replaced Richard Thompson in the band The Association in 1974. He rejoined them after their hiatus in 1979 but finally left them in 1984.
