Something Cool is the debut solo album by June Christy, released on Capitol Records first as a 10-inch LP of seven selections in August of 1954, and then as a 12-inch LP of eleven selections the following August, both times in monophonic sound.

While Rugolo continued to work occasionally with Kenton in the 1950s, he spent more time creating arrangements for pop and jazz vocalists, most extensively with former Kenton singer June Christy on such albums as Something Cool, The Misty Miss Christy, Fair and Warmer!, Gone for the Day, and The Song Is June!

17 de ago. de 2021 · The first featured her best-known album, Something Cool, recorded in 1954 with Rugolo and his orchestra, which Christy later described as “the only thing I’ve recorded that I’m not unhappy with”. Its chart success, along with that of The Misty Miss Christy, helped launch the vocal cool movement of the 1950s.
