William Winant (born 1953) is an American percussionist. Winant in 2016. In addition to his work in contemporary classical music —notably performing Lou Harrison 's compositions—Winant has worked in a variety of genres, including noise rock, free improvisation and jazz.
He is principal percussionist with the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, he has been closely associated with NYC composer John Zorn, and has made numerous recordings, and performed in many projects throughout the world with the composer.
