William Herbert, 2nd Earl of Pembroke (5 March 1451 – 16 July 1491) was an English nobleman and politician. Early life. He was the son of William Herbert, 1st Earl of Pembroke and Anne Devereux.

The eldest son of Sir Richard Herbert ('Ddu') of Ewyas, bastard of William Herbert (died 1469), earl of Pembroke of the first creation, his mother being the daughter of Sir Matthew Cradock of Swansea, Receiver of Glamorgan.
The Herbert family is an Anglo-Welsh noble family founded by William Herbert, known as "Black William", the son of William ap Thomas, founder of Raglan Castle, a follower of Edward IV of England in the Wars of the Roses.
William Herbert, 3rd Earl of Pembroke (8 April 1580 – 10 April 1630) KG, PC, of Wilton House in Wiltshire, was an English nobleman, politician and courtier. He served as Chancellor of the University of Oxford and together with King James I founded Pembroke College, Oxford.

His rise in royal favour was now rapid. He was made a privy chancellor, and was present at Baynard's castle when the earl of March was proclaimed king as Edward IV (March 1461). At the coronation he became lord Herbert of Raglan (4 November). He was chief justice and chamberlain of South Wales.
