The daughter of Frederick I, Duke of Württemberg and his wife, Sibylla of Anhalt , she was born a Duchess of Württemberg and became margravine after marrying Frederick V, Margrave of Baden-Durlach , in 1616.

Barbara Sophia of Brandenburg (16 November 1584 – 13 February 1636) was duchess of Württemberg by marriage to Duke John Frederick of Württemberg and acted as regent of the Duchy of Württemberg for their minor son, Duke Eberhard III of Württemberg, in 1631–1633.
Barbara of Württemberg (4 December 1593 in Stuttgart — 18 May 1627 in Stuttgart) was margravine of Baden-Durlach by marriage. She was a daughter of Frederick I, Duke of Württemberg and his wife, Sibylla of Anhalt.
He was born at Karlsburg Castle, in Durlach (now part of Karlsruhe) as the son of Friedrich V, Margrave of Baden-Durlach and Barbara of Württemberg. He studied in Strasbourg and Paris where he particularly enjoyed the science of war.
