I Never Said Goodbye is the ninth studio album by American rock musician Sammy Hagar, released on June 23, 1987, by Geffen Records. It was his first solo album since 1984's VOA, released while he was a member of Van Halen.
23 de jun. de 2017 · One year after the success of 5150, Sammy Hagar momentarily stepped outside of Van Halen to fulfill his contract with Geffen — he owed them one album as part of a deal made between Geffen and Warner Brothers when the vocalist joined Van Halen.
The album was re-named I Never Said Goodbye, the name being chosen as part of an MTV promotional contest. It features Eddie Van Halen on bass. In an interview, Eddie said he also played a very brief part on guitar uncredited.

23 de jun. de 2022 · Sammy Hagar’s solo album I Never Said Goodbye featuring Eddie Van Halen on bass turned 35 today. The syndicated radio show “In The Studio with Red Beard” recently re-released the album’s 25th anniversary interview with Hagar.
