Baku Polytechnicum (Azerbaijani: Bakı Politexnikumu) was a technical university that was established in 1887 in Baku, when it was under Russian rule. By 1910 it had integrated a curriculum related to the growing petroleum industry.

Lopatynsky worked at both the Azerbaidzhan University and the Baku Polytechnic Institute. The Polytechnic Institute had been called the Baku Polytechnicum from its founding in 1887 until the Red Army took control of Baku in 1920 when the Baku Polytechnicum became the Baku Polytechnic Institute.
In 1920, it was formed on the basis of the Baku Polytechnicum, and since December 27, 2018, it has been continuing its activities under the name AzII e-Book House based on the foundation of ASOIU's Fundamental Library.
