  1. Constantine Phipps, 1st Baron Mulgrave was the son of Lady Catherine Annesley and William Phipps and grandson of Sir Constantine Henry Phipps (1656–1723), who served as Lord Chancellor of Ireland from 1710 to 1714.

  7. Constantine John Phipps was born in 1744, the eldest son of the first Baron Mulgrave, a peer of Ireland. In 1760, he entered the Navy, serving in the West Indies before advancing to the rank of lieutenant in 1762 and commander in 1763.
