Constantine Phipps, 1st Baron Mulgrave was the son of Lady Catherine Annesley and William Phipps and grandson of Sir Constantine Henry Phipps (1656–1723), who served as Lord Chancellor of Ireland from 1710 to 1714.
Constantine Phipps, was born the son of William Phipps and his wife, Lady Catherine Annesley, the daughter and heiress of James Annesley, 3rd Earl of Anglesey. He was born 5 Aug 1722 and baptised 22 Aug 1722. He was created Baron Mulgrave of New Ross (co. Wexford) in the Peerage of Ireland in 1767. [1] [2] He died 13 September 1775.

Constantine John Phipps, 2nd Baron Mulgrave FRS PC (30 May 1744 – 10 October 1792) was an English explorer and officer in the Royal Navy. He served during the Seven Years' War and the American War of Independence, seeing action in a number of battles and engagements.

Constantine John Phipps was born in 1744, the eldest son of the first Baron Mulgrave, a peer of Ireland. In 1760, he entered the Navy, serving in the West Indies before advancing to the rank of lieutenant in 1762 and commander in 1763.
