Ancient Light is a 2012 novel by John Banville. [1] . First published on 7 July 2012, the novel concludes a trilogy concerning Alexander Cleave and his daughter, Cass. [2] . Eclipse (2000) and Shroud (2002) were Ancient Light' s literary predecessors in the Banville canon.
