Archduchess Elisabeth of Austria (31 May 1922 – 6 January 1993) was a member of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine. She was the youngest daughter of Charles I , the last Emperor of Austria , and his wife, Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma .

Navigator on Mount Olympus and Muse. Born on Christmas 1837 in Munich, Elisabeth was educated at the Palais Max in a liberal humanistic tradition. Her childhood dream was to become a circus artist. She first experienced theatre when she and her father dressed up as vagabonds and danced in public.

However, this meant that Elisabeth, despite being closely related to the Bavarian royal dynasty, had a carefree childhood. The family lived quietly in Duke Max’s palace on Ludwigsstrasse in Munich and at their summer residence at Possenhofen on Lake Starnberg.
