Dorothea (Stewart) Stewart Countess of Gowrie is Notable. Dorothea Stewart was the daughter of Henry Stewart, 1st Lord Methven and his second wife Janet Stewart . She was born before their marriage but was legitimated in 1551.

She married William Ruthven 1st Earl of Gowrie, 4th Lord, Provost, Treasurer on 17 August 1561, in Perthshire, Scotland. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 8 daughters. She died on 1 January 1627, in her hometown, at the age of 82, and was buried in Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland.
Henry Stewart, 1st Lord Methven (c. 1495 – 1552) was Master of the Scottish Artillery and third, and last husband, of Margaret Tudor, eldest daughter of Henry VII of England and Elizabeth of York.
