Pat Martino (born Patrick Carmen Azzara; August 25, 1944 – November 1, 2021) was an American jazz guitarist and composer. He has been cited as one of the greatest guitarists in jazz.
Cedar Walton, Pat Martino, and the rest of the group gave McPherson everything he needed in the way of support, and helped to create what remains an exemplary program from one of the most substantial and uncompromising voices in the jazz world.
