Margaret was the daughter of Sir Humphrey de Bohun, 8th Earl Hereford & 9th Earl Essex and Elizabeth of Rhuddlan from the House of Plantagenet. Her mother was the daughter of Edward I by his first wife, Eleanor of Castile.
