Cuando el guitarrista de Jethro Tull, Mick Abrahams (nacido el 7 de abril de 1943 en Luton) decidió abandonar a finales del año 1968 la formación liderada por Ian Anderson, lo hizo para protagonizar una nueva aventura dentro del blues rock progresivo y el jazz rock en un conjunto al que denominó Blodwyn Pig.
