17 de feb. de 2023 · His obligatory theme song, "Epistrophy," is not quite a full performance rather it's a beg-off finale. Reissued a number of times by different labels, this portion of Thelonious Monk's 1965 Paris concert is enjoyable, even if it falls short of being essential.

The positive aspect of this disc is the leader's playing, the fine grand piano at the Parisian Olympia seems to have inspired him, as is evident from the first few chords he strikes to test the instrument.
