Today, about 25,000 students are studying in the university, including nearly 1,500 foreigners from 55 countries. SU KAI incorporates five institutes, ten faculties, military training department, six colleges, two lyceums. SU KAI trains bachelors, masters, candidates, and doctors of science.

The National Aviation University dates its origins back to 1933 with the Kyiv Aviation Institute’s enrolment of students across four faculties: operational, aircraft, engine and ground structures. In 1934, it became the Voroshilov Kyiv Aviation Institute of Civil Air Fleet.

The National Aviation University was founded in 1933 on the basis of the Aviation Faculty of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
