The original members of the group Dick Massey and Kenneth McCluskey have formed their own band called "The Commitments". After the film's success Andrew Strong, the lead singer, performed with Elton John, Bryan Adams, Ray Charles and The Rolling Stones, and signed a solo record deal with MCA Records. He continued touring and lives in Denmark.

24 de feb. de 2024 · Following on from the film, Dick co-founded the touring band Stars Of The Commitments with co-star Ken McCluskey. Since moving away from the project, Dick has taken a more behind-the-scenes role and is now managing bands. Dick has worked as a tour manager with bands such as Coldplay and Linkin Park, keeping the rock and roll lifestyle alive.
