Helvis de Ibelín (después de 1178 – antes del 1 de junio de 1216) fue la hija de Balián de Ibelín y su esposa, María Comnena, que era la reina viuda de Jerusalén. Helvis fue miembro de la Casa de Ibelín. Fue la señora de Sidón por su primer y segundo matrimonio.
Con Helvis, que así se llamaba la agraciada, tuvo tres hijos y dos hijas. El pequeño de los varones, nacido en Tierra Santa y no en Francia, como dice la película, se llamó también Barisán, igual que su padre, aunque fue conocido como Balián, quizá por deformación del diminutivo Bari.
Como recompensa por sus leales servicios, se casó en 1122 con Helvis, heredera del cercano Señorío de Ramala . En 1141, el rey Fulco de Jerusalén concedió a Barisán el Castillo de Ibelín, como recompensa por su lealtad durante la rebelión de Hugo II de Jaffa en 1134.
Helvis of Ibelin (after 1178 – before 1 June 1216) was a daughter of Balian of Ibelin and his wife, Maria Komnene, who was the dowager Queen of Jerusalem. Helvis was a member of the House of Ibelin. She was Lady of Sidon by her first and second marriage.
Balian was the youngest son of Barisan of Ibelin, and brother of Hugh and Baldwin. His father, a knight in the County of Jaffa, had been rewarded with the lordship of Ibelin after the revolt of Hugh II of Le Puiset. Barisan married Helvis of Ramla, heiress of the wealthy lordship of Ramla.
The House of Ibelin was a noble family in the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem in the 12th century. They rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most important families in the kingdom, holding various high offices and with extensive holdings in the Holy Land and Cyprus.
Balián de Ibelín (1144-1193) fue un importante noble cruzado del Reino de Jerusalén. Perteneciente a la Casa Ibelín, fue Señor de Ramala . Fue hijo menor de Barisán de Ibelín (condestable de Jaffa, fallecido en 1150), con Helvis de Ramala, y hermano de Hugo de Ibelín (1130-1170) y de Balduino de Ibelín (f. 1187).
