Manic Hispanic was originally started in 1992 by Mike "Gabby" Gaborno (a.k.a. Jefe) from The Cadillac Tramps and Steve Soto (a.k.a. El Hoakie Loco) from The Adolescents/22 Jacks, originally with the intent to perform doo-wop versions of punk songs.
Mike “Gabby” Gaborno, también conocido por el apodo de “El Jefe” falleció a los 51 años el 4 de enero de 2017 a consecuencia del cáncer de hígado que padecía. Mike “Gabby” Gaborno, the wildly charismatic lead singer of the beloved Southern California punk band Cadillac Tramps has died. The musician was 51. Gaborno was felled by liver cancer, but had recently suffered a spate of health issues, including a stroke, a heart attack, diabetes and liver and renal failure.
