Walter Beasley (born May 24, 1961) is an American saxophonist, a professor of music at the Berklee College of Music, and founder of Affable Publishing and Affable Records.
Since 1987 he has released 26 albums. He has been in the top 10 best-selling African American saxophonists in the world since 1998, winning several awards like the title of Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Artist of the Year in 2019 and Soul Tracks’ Instrumentalist of the Year award in 2023.
Walter Beasley has been a working musician and a music educator for 25 years. Today, he talks about his dual career, as well as his upcoming CD, Free Your Mind, which releases on the Heads Up label on February 24th.
