Natalie Catherine "Dolly" Garavente is Frank Sinatra's mother. [1] Born on December 26, 1896, Dolly moved to America at a very young age before the start of the twentieth century with her family from the town of Rossi. [2]
When Sinatra was six, his uncle Babe, Dolly's brother, was arrested for driving a getaway car after a Railway Express truck driver was murdered. Though Dolly attended his trial daily and attempted to evoke sympathy, her brother was convicted and sentenced to prison for 15 years.
