Horatia Nelson, born 29 January 1801, was the only surviving child of Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson and his lover Lady Emma Hamilton. At the time of Horatia's birth her parents were married, just not to each other, with Nelson married to his wife of fourteen years, Frances Nelson, and Emma married to Sir William Hamilton.
