Laurens Jan Brinkhorst (born 18 March 1937) is a retired Dutch politician and diplomat of the Democrats 66 (D66) party and jurist.
Laurens Jan Brinkhorst (Zwolle, 18 maart 1937) is een Nederlands voormalig politicus van de Democraten 66 (D66), oud-diplomaat en jurist. Brinkhorst was partijleider van D'66 in 1982.
President of the European Cultural Foundation. Member of the Board of Trustees, Oceano Azul Foundation. Petra Laurentien Brinkhorst was born in Leiden on 25 May 1966 to Laurens Jan Brinkhorst and Jantien Brinkhorst-Heringa.
Laurens Jan Brinkhorst formerly served as a member of the European and Netherlands Parliaments and is a professor of international and European law and governance at the University of Leiden. He has a long and distinguished political and academic career and is an expert in European affairs.
Laurens Jan Brinkhorst is a retired Dutch politician who served as Deputy Prime Minister (2005-2006), Minister of Economic Affairs (2003-2006), Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Fisheries (1999-2002) and Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs (1973-1977).

De twee moeten elkaar als kind al hebben gekend.
