The new Edison/Fareira is a combined academic high school and vocational skills center. It is located at Front and Luzerne Streets with an outdoor athletic facility on the same site. The school lost 64 former students during the Vietnam War, more than any other U.S. high school.

Finally, in 1988, the original school was replaced by a new co-educational Edison/Fareira High School, named in part for its late principal, John C. Fareira. The new Edison/Fareira is a combined academic high school and vocational skills center.
11 de ago. de 2011 · In the late 1960s, we knew all too well that some would return in body bags. But no high school in America suffered as many casualties as Philadelphia’s Edison High. This school at 7th and Lehigh lost 54 young men in Vietnam. Today, the Edison/Fareira High School occupies a much newer building at Front and Luzerne Streets.
