Brigadier-General Samuel Masham, 1st Baron Masham (1678/79 – 1758), was a British courtier in the court of Queen Anne, and the husband of her favourite, Abigail, Lady Masham.
Baron Masham is a title that has been created three times, once in the Peerage of Great Britain and twice in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was first created in the Peerage of Great Britain in 1712 when the courtier Samuel Masham was made Baron Masham, of Otes.
Samuel Masham, 1. Baron Masham (* 1678/79 in High Laver, Essex; † 2. Februar 1758), war ein britischer Adliger und Höfling. Er war ein jüngerer Sohn des Unterhausabgeordneten Sir Francis Masham, 3. Baronet (um 1646–1723) aus dessen Ehe mit Mary Scott und wurde auf dem Anwesen der Familie Otes House bei High Laver in Essex geboren.

Masham played an important role behind the scenes until the death of the Queen led to his retirement from politics. He died on 16 Oct. 1758, being succeeded by his son, also Samuel. 4 Ref Volumes: 1690-1715
