Friedrich Prince zu Schwarzenberg, or in Czech Bedřich prince ze Schwarzenberg (April 6, 1809 in Vienna, Austria – March 27, 1885 in Vienna, Austria) was a Catholic Cardinal of the nineteenth century in Austria and the Kingdom of Bohemia and a member of the House of Schwarzenberg.
The House of Schwarzenberg is a German ( Franconian) and Czech ( Bohemian) aristocratic family, formerly one of the most prominent European noble houses. The Schwarzenbergs are members of the German and Czech nobility, and they once held the rank of Princes of the Holy Roman Empire.
Friedrich, Prince of Schwarzenberg (Czech: kníže Bedřich Schwarzenberg; 30 September 1800 – 6 March 1870) had an adventurous career as a soldier, and described his wanderings and campaigns in several interesting works, of which the best known is his Wanderungen eines Lanzknechtes (1844–1845).
Cardinal and Prince- Archbishop of Prague, b. at Vienna, 6 April, 1809; d. there, 27 March, 1885. Son of Prince Joseph John Schwarzenberg and his spouse Pauline ( née Princess Arenberg), he was baptized in his father's palace in Vienna.

Scion of one of the oldest aristocratic houses of the Habsburg.
