  1. Port Arthur Collegiate Institute was a collegiate institute operated by the Lakehead District School Board in Thunder Bay, Ontario from 1910 to 2007. The building was designated a historic building in 1984 and is located at the west end of Waverly Park .

The cornerstone for the school building was laid in 1909 by James Conmee, mayor of Port Arthur in 1884.

  5. 22 de may. de 2020 · In December 1910, the board conveyed the college to the Methodist Episcopal Church, and the name was changed to Port Arthur Collegiate Institute. In succeeding years, academic, music and science classes were added to the curriculum.

  6. Port Arthur College was a city-owned, nonprofit, vocational school specializing in business and electronics education, offering training in stenography, secretarial work, bookkeeping, accounting, and radio. By 1925 the college owned a 15-acre campus. In 1933, radio station KPAC was established.

  7. This plaque honours the memory of the students of Port Arthur Collegiate Institute who served in the First World War.
