William FitzEmpress (22 July 1136 – 30 January 1164) or William Longespee [2] was the youngest of the three sons of Empress Matilda and Geoffrey Plantagenet, Count of Anjou.
Although he was living in the right time period this can't be William FitzEmpress, Count of Poitou, the brother of Henry II of England, who died in 1164, as Cecily FitzJohn was married to her third husband Walter de Mayenne (Meduana) about 1162. William FitzEmpress was also negotiating to marry Isabel de Warenne in the early 1160s. [2] Sources.
