When Gary U.S. Bonds thinks about the rollout of his comeback album "Dedication," his first collaboration with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, all he can do is laugh. "My manager asked, 'How do you want to promote this?'" Bonds recalls, thinking back to 1981 when the album hit the Top 30 and the single "This Little Girl" reached No. 11.
Production duties are shared between Bruce Springsteen and Steve van Zandt as they attempt to revive the career of one of their early heroes. The highlights are the opening couple of tracks also released as singles after which nothing else quite catches fire.
