Joyce Culpeper, born about 1480, was the daughter of Sir Richard Culpeper (d. 4 October 1484) and his second wife, Isabel Worsley (born c. 1450 – 18 April 1527), the daughter of Otewell Worsley of Southwark, Surrey, by Rose Trevor. [1]

Jocasta ‘Joyce’ Culpeper, of Oxon Hoath, was born around 1480 and is known primarily as the mother of Catherine Howard, the fifth wife of King Henry VIII. She was the daughter of Sir Richard Culpeper and Isabel Worsley, and had a brother, Thomas Culpeper, and a sister, Margaret Culpeper.
Joyce (Jocasta) Culpeper (c.1480/1-c.1531) was the mother of Catherine Howard who later became the fifth wife and Queen Consort to King Henry VIII. Early life. Joyce was born in Oxenhoath, Kent, the first child of Sir Richard Culpeper of Oxen Hoath and his second wife Isabel Worsley.
Howard married firstly Joyce Culpeper (c.1480 – c.1528), widow of Ralph Leigh (d. 6 November 1509) of Stockwell (in Lambeth), Surrey, and daughter of Richard Culpeper, esquire, of Oxenhoath, West Peckham, Kent. By her first marriage, Joyce Culpeper had two sons and three daughters who were thus Howard's stepchildren: [13]
