Heard a rumor that Nelson Bragg was let go. Not sure if true or not but he hasn’t toured with the band since 2018, that’s for certain. Rob Bonfiglio has replaced Nicky Wonder, and Mike D’Amico is on drums.

There is a show from late 1977 where Brian breaks into WIBN with piano and vocal, and the band tries to jump in. Brian is pretty animated during the entire show. Can't remember the exact show but I'll try to track it down. Audio only, could be Seattle? I'm a "superfan" going back to 1986, and this is my first post here. Should be fun!

It was a culmination of many different events that lead to Brian shelving the Smile album. His fellow bandmates, particularly Mike Love voiced their disdain for the new direction he was taking, he was also taking lots of LSD, there was also the pressure to create a follow-up to Pet Sounds, which, while not immediately commercially successful, was recognised as a landmark in modern music.
