  5. Governor-General of New Zealand. Sir Charles John Lyttelton, 10th Viscount Cobham, was born in 1909 and educated at Eton and Cambridge, graduating with a law degree in 1932. He joined the 100th Field Brigade in 1933 and served in France before Dunkirk. He commanded the 5th Regiment from 1943 to 45.

  6. In his earlier years, as the Hon. Charles Lyttelton, Lord Cobham was a fine cricketer. From 1936 to 1939 he captained the Worcester County team and was vice-captain of the M.C.C. Eleven which toured New Zealand in 1935–36.
