Polly Bergen (born Nellie Paulina Burgin; July 14, 1930 – September 20, 2014) was an American actress, singer, television host, writer and entrepreneur. She won an Emmy Award in 1958 for her performance as Helen Morgan in Helen Morgan (Playhouse 90).

20 de sept. de 2014 · NEW YORK (AP) — Emmy-winning actress and singer Polly Bergen, who in a long career played the terrorized wife in the original “Cape Fear” and the first woman president in “Kisses for My President,” died Saturday, according to her publicist. She was 84.
The looks and poise of a 1950s Vogue model; the mentholated singing voice; the actress' approach to words all these helped launch Polly Bergen on a career that began in the late 40s and still thrives today.
