The University of New Brunswick Faculty of Law is the second oldest university-based common law Faculty in the Commonwealth. It is located in New Brunswick's capital city, Fredericton, and is one of two law schools located in the province, the other being the French-language Faculty at l'Université de Moncton.
We’ve stuck to first principles, requiring students to take a broad selection of courses in both public and private law. We’ve emphasized the basics of common law and legislation, analytical skills, legal writing, oral advocacy — things that never go out of style.
The UNB Legal Clinic provides free legal services to individuals who cannot afford representation and who do not qualify for legal aid. The clinic is housed in the Law building and currently offers legal services in employment law, tenant law and social benefits. Learn more about this opportunity.
