24 de jun. de 2015 · Midnight Mission was The Textones’ first full-length album, originally released in 1984, at the height of fun ‘80s pop. And this band does have a bit of that glorious pop sound for sure, but has so much more going on, deliciously mixing genres like pop, rock, blues and country.
28 de jun. de 2015 · The band acquits itself nicely in creating a rambling, roots/country-rock vibe that suits the lyrical subject matter perfectly. Olson’s old Texas buddy Don Henley (yes, that Don Henley), lent his backing vocals to the twangy “Midnight Mission.”.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Olson moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1978 where she formed the Textones, whose debut album Midnight Mission entered the Billboard 200. Carla is multilingual. She served as a French translator for Malian legend Ali Farka Toure. She also speaks Italian, Japanese and Swedish.
