  5. Abstract. This is the first volume of a two-volume work on Probability and Induction. Because the writer holds that probability logic is identical with inductive logic, this work is devoted to philosophical problems concerning the nature of probability and inductive reasoning.

  6. Carnap distinguishes between two concepts of probability: (1) Degree of confirmation, the subject matter of this book, which-he says- is the classical concept as well as the concept studied by authors like Keynes and Jeifreys. 2) The frequency concept studied by von Mises and Reichenbach.
