  3. Herron School of Art and Design, officially IU Herron School of Art and Design, is a public art school at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is a professional art school and has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design since 1952.

We challenge our students to collaborate and engage with businesses, nonprofits, health-care facilities, schools, and museums across Indianapolis — a diverse city that embraces Herron student work and ideas.

  5. Indiana University's Herron School of Art and Design is a professional art school. That means when you come to Herron as an undergraduate, you will be earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (unless you are studying Art History or Art Education)—not a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree.

  6. With over 6,000 square feet of combined exhibition space, the Galleries at Herron School of Art and Design showcase the artwork of emerging and established contemporary artists and designers and the work of Herron's acclaimed faculty, distinguished alumni, and students.

  7. Admission to Herron School of Art and Design is based on the student's previous school record and a visual portfolio, with the exception of those entering the school as Art History majors. All Herron applicants must first be admitted to IUPUI.
