South Boston High School was a public high school located in South Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It was part of Boston Public Schools. The school closed in 2003, and its former facility is currently occupied by Excel High School. History. South Boston High School was built on Telegraph Hill in Dorchester Heights in 1901.

Built adjacent to the Dorchester Height monument, this school has seen better days, and has been taken over by a gang of raiders.
As the front entrance of the school is blocked, access is only possible by proceeding through a raider camp to the south, where a duffle bag is found in the shack on the east side. In the small closet opposite the men's restroom on the first floor, one can find the dismembered limbs and torso of a marble statue. The statue pedestal is in the graveyard of the South Boston Church, located a few blocks east of the school.

On September 12, 1974, 79 of 80 schools were bused without incident (with South Boston High School being the lone exception), and through October 10, there were 149 arrests (40 percent occurring at South Boston High alone), 129 injuries, and $50,000 in property damage.
