  1. Henry Percy, Baron Percy of Alnwick (died 1659), son of Henry Percy, 9th Earl of Northumberland, sat in the Short Parliament as the member for Portsmouth, and in the Long Parliament an M.P. for Northumberland; an originator of the "first army plot" in 1641, after which he retired to France.

Henry Percy, 9th Baron Percy of Topcliffe, 2nd Baron Percy of Alnwick (6 February 1301 – 26 February 1352) was the son of Henry de Percy, 1st Baron Percy of Alnwick, and Eleanor Fitzalan, daughter of Sir Richard FitzAlan, 8th Earl of Arundel, and sister of Edmund FitzAlan, 9th Earl of Arundel.

  5. Henry de Percy was keeper of Bamburgh castle in 1330 and overseer of an array in the Northern counties. In spite of Percy’s almost continuous service on the Borders, he had found time to fight on the Continent.

  6. Henry Percy, 1st Baron Percy, took possession of Alnwick Castle in 1309 and quickly set about a major renovation. He transformed its military defences, creating a formidable fortress. He also added private rooms and lodgings, which are still in use today.

  7. Son of the 3rd Baron Percy of Alnwick (died 1368), he led English troops in France by the age of 18 and was a warden of the Scottish marches two years later. In 1376 he became marshal of England and was created earl of Northumberland at Richard II ’s coronation in 1377.
