As Captain Lewis Nixon scrounges for his favored whisky, Vat 69, Easy Company enters Nazi Germany. Nixon is distraught after learning that his wife is divorcing him; he is demoted to operations officer for the battalion. A small patrol of Easy Company men stumble upon a concentration camp near Landsberg and free the surviving prisoners.
