Alexander Lawther nació en Petersfield, Hampshire, Inglaterra el 4 de mayo de 1995. Después de unirse a varios grupos dramáticos diferentes, incluido The National Youth Theatre, el joven Lawther finalmente encontró su gran oportunidad con una obra llamada South Downs a la edad de 16 años.
